Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 監視カメラの画像から監視対象以外の人工光 源などを省いて、火災(炎)領域だけを抽出できるよう にすること。 【解決手段】 画像から一時的に火災らしい領域を抽出 する火災候補領域抽出手段(41)と、火災らしい領域 を外接矩形で囲む外接矩形作成手段(43)と、外接矩 形の横方向の最大長を演算する外接矩形横方向最大長演 算手段(50)と、所定時間における外接矩形の横方向 最大長の変化量を演算する最大長変化量演算手段(5 1)と、外接矩形の横方向最大長の変化量に基づいて火 災らしい領域が本当の火災領域であるか否かを判別する 火災判別手段(49A)とで構成する。
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a fire by calculating the maximum length of the horizontal direction of a firelike area extracted from a picture and discriminating whether the firelike area is really a fire area or not based on the detecting output of the change. SOLUTION: A fire candidate area extracting means 41 being one of the constituting elements of a picture processing part 4 binarize-processes a picture signal read from a picture memory 3 by a prescribed value to extract an area over the prescribed value, namely a bright area, as the firelike area (an area which can be regarded as generating a fire). An extracting area horizontally maximum length arithmetic means 45 calculates the maximum length of the horizontal direction of the firelike area, namely the extracted area, successively by each picture over prescribed number of pictures in a prescribed period. A maximum length change detecting means consisting of constituting elements 46 to 48 detects the change of the maximum length of the horizontal direction over the prescribed period. A fire discriminating means 49 is connected to the evaluation value giving means 48 to discriminate whether the firelike area is really a fire area based on the output. COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
